Anti-Hindu sentiment , also known as Hinduphobia or Anti-Hinduism , is a negative perception, sentiment or actions against the practice and practitioners of Hinduism. Individuals in the Indian diaspora have begun to protest that Western scholars "distort their religion and perpetuate negative stereotypes", [1] which began with Macaulayism in India. Historically, such stereotypes were promulgated during the British Raj by several Indophobes in South Asia as a means to aggrandize sectarian divisions in Indian society, part of the divide and rule strategy employed by the British. The Indian Caste System , a social stratification system in South Asia which has been criticized for its discriminatory problems, is often seen as a uniquely 'Hindu' issue rather than a cultural one. Anti-Muslim hate seems to be the unifying cause hate groups can rally around and engage in on the social media platform. These findings are part of her ongoing research project to study far-right extremist beliefs through social media. According to a Pew research study, 75 percent of Muslims polled believe there is a lot of discrimination in the United States against Muslims. This disposition is well illustrated on Facebook, a platform in which Nazis and white nationalists are removed, while anti-Muslim groups remain.

Freedom of speech is our most important freedom. The PVV, which is the leading opposition party in the Netherlands after coming second in elections last March, said the cartoon competition would be held in the autumn after getting the go-ahead from the NCTV counter-terrorism agency. And that has to be defied by drawing Mohammad. Two gunmen from Arizona were shot dead by police as they tried to storm the competition won by the cartoonist in Garland, Texas. That contest was held four months after Islamist gunmen murdered 12 people at the Paris offices of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo , which had printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
