What Sensitivity do Pro eSports Gamers Use?

What sensitivity should I use? It's a question we get all the time and an important one. No other setting has as much impact on performance as sensitivity does. Getting it right can make aiming faster and more precise. Get it wrong and you'll find it almost impossible to aim well in certain scenarios.

We've already taken a stab at answering this question from a more theoretical perspective here. But putting theory to one side for a moment - what do the pros use? What sensitivities do the elite players at the top of their game use? That would be interesting to know right!?

Well fortunately, there is a great site that helps us answer that question - prosettings.com. Prosettings have collected the settings from most of the world's top gamers. So let's take a look.

The first thing to notice is that average sensitivity varies a lot by game so we'll approach this game form a game by game perspective. We'll take a look at CS:GO, Fortnite, Apex Legends and Overwatch.

To make things comparable, we'll convert everything into the standard: Inches per 360 turn. That is, how far do you need to move your mouse in order to do a full 360-degree turn. This allows us to compare sensitivities between games in a standardised way. To find your sensitivity in this value you can either measure it yourself in-game or you can use our tool here. Just enter your in-game sensitivity and your mouse DPI and it will tell you your distance per 360.

And if you need to convert sensitivities between games, you can use our mouse sens convertor here.

Fortnite Sensitivity

Fortnite Sensitivity

On average, Fortnite pros use a sensitivity of 8 Inches per 360 turn. This is quite a low sensitivity.

Overwatch Sensitivity

Overwatch Sensitivity

On average, Overwatch pros use a sensitivity of 9.8 Inches per 360 turn.

CS:GO Sensitivity

CS:GO Sensitivity

On average, CS:GO pros use a sensitivity of 16.2 Inches per 360 turn.

Apex Legends Sensitivity

Apex Legends Sensitivity

On average, Apex Legends pros use a sensitivity of 10.56 Inches per 360 turn.

Summary of Sensitivities by Game

Inches per 360 Turn CM per 360 Turn
Fortnite 8" 20.3cm
Overwatch 9.8" 24.9cm
CS:GO 16.2" 41.1cm
Apex Legends 10.56" 26.8cm

Conclusion

Here we can see how much the average sensitivity varies between games. CS:GO, being a slower, more precise game has a much lower average sensitivity allowing for more precise, accurate aiming. Fortnite conversely has a much higher average sensitivity allowing for much faster direction changes and more responsive close-quarter fighting.

If you want to find out the perfect sensitivity for you then a great way can be to test out different sensitivities and measure your performance for each in a dedicated aim training environment such as Aiming.Pro (it's free!)
